jabberwockyi am a writer, researcher and curator currently living in amsterdam. by thinking with and through material culture, i want to support, imagine and tell stories we wish had been told before, and in so doing, make one attempt towards acting and listening in a reparative mode. recurring concerns in my work include: asking how to gather complex publics, attempting to enact ethics through curating rather than represent them, and using play, fiction, and humor as exhibition-making methodologies. as an organizer, curator and teacher, i want to show care, encourage nuance, and foster spaces that make discomfort more comfortable.

much of my current work falls under the umbrella of a long-term research trajectory, characters in a forest telling stories musically. this research began with an examination of the intersection of socioeconomic botany, the human regulation of land rights and genetic resources, and plant intelligence, thinking about these entanglements via musical forms such as the fugue.

a few recent curatorial projects include: As far as anyone could recall, Fridericianum, Kassel, Neither here nor there, neither fish nor fowl at Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Siegen and Schloss Ringenberg, Hamminkeln, and Game Theory, in the 2nd CAFA Museum Biennale, Beijing. alongside curating, i teach at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, work with artist and filmmaker Fiona Tan, and write for contemporary art publications and catalogues, contributing to, among others, Metropolis M and C Magazine.
